Welcome to Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise the unique and incomparable contribution the Whadjuk people have made and continue to make to our culture and in our community. We will continue to seek the input of the Traditional Owners. The land on which we live, meet and thrive as a community always was and always will be Noongar land.

A Collaboration 20 Years in the making…

For more than two decades, Noongar artist Peter Farmer and Jason Hirst have worked side by side, blending contemporary design with rich cultural narratives. Their long-standing collaboration is built on respect, creativity, and a shared vision: to create works that honour Country while enriching the spaces we live in.

Together, they transform Peter’s cultural narratives into designs and structures that connect people to place. Jason’s architectural and design expertise, combined with Peter’s artistic knowledge and cultural guidance, have shaped projects across Australia that celebrate family, community, and the enduring relationship between land and people.

Symbols are crucial to indigenous heritage. In Noongar, this symbol represents a meeting place which is the central concept to this project.

To sit, means to contribute to the atmosphere supporting the act of gathering, sharing ideas, thoughts and oral memories. The act of sitting and yarning circles is embedded in the form, design and meaning of moort.

Our Colour Range

We use a Powder Coating Process to colour the products. Powder coating is a dry finishing process, which is based on polymer resin systems. A process called electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) is used to achieve the application of the powder coating to a metal substrate. This application method uses a spray gun, which applies an electrostatic charge to the powder, which are then attracted to the grounded part. After application of the powder coating, the parts enter a curing oven where, with the addition of heat, the coating chemically reacts to produce a solid ‘skin.‘

Connection to Country

Our work is guided by a deep and ongoing connection to Country. The land holds stories that reach far beyond our lifetime, carrying the voices of ancestors, families and communities who have cared for these places for countless generations. We approach every design with respect for those stories, listening to the rhythms, colours and textures of the landscape and allowing them to shape the way we create.

For us, Country is not a backdrop. It is a living presence that informs each line, form and material choice. We design with care, with humility and with the understanding that every place has meaning. Through our work, we hope to honour the spirit of the land, celebrate community, and create spaces that feel grounded, connected and true to the stories that belong here.
