FAQs

What does Moort mean?

“Moort” is a Noongar word meaning family, kinship, and connection. It represents the heart of what we create, designs that bring people together, grounded in story, material, and Country.

Where are the products made?

All Moort Designs products are designed in Western Australia and made in collaboration with Australian manufacturers. Each piece reflects local craftsmanship and respect for Country.

What are your production and delivery times?

As our products are locally made and finished to order, production times may vary. Typically, please allow 6–10 weeks from order confirmation to delivery, depending on the scale of your project.

What materials do you use?

Our products are made from marine-grade aluminium and steel, chosen for their strength, durability, and connection to place. These materials withstand time and climate, symbolising resilience — a key theme in our design language.

How do you collaborate with Aboriginal Artists?

We work closely with Aboriginal artists such as Peter Farmer Snr and Peter Farmer Jnr, whose artistry and cultural narratives guide our design process. Each collaboration is grounded in respect, consultation, and shared storytelling that ensures cultural integrity.

Do you create public or commercial pieces?

Yes. Our design practice includes public art, architectural collaborations, and furniture for urban and cultural spaces. We welcome inquiries from architects, councils, and design studios.

What does “Connection to Country” mean in your work?

“Connection to Country” refers to our relationship with the land, its stories, materials, and spirit. Every Moort Designs product is created with this awareness, celebrating Country through contemporary Australian design.

Can I customise Colours & Finishes?

Yes. Many of our designs can be finished in a range of colours and textures. We work closely with clients to select finishes that complement the environment and design intent.

How does Moort Designs approach Sustainability?

Sustainability is woven into every stage of our process — from material selection to local production. We use marine-grade aluminium and steel, materials that are long-lasting, recyclable, and sourced through ethical Australian suppliers. By manufacturing locally, we reduce transport impact and support regional craftsmanship.
